Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT exam) is an online admission test. This is generally conducted by the Pilani campus of BITS. What is the BITSAT examination?
The word stands for Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test. BITSAT is basically an online examination that is computer oriented and is conducted by the Pilani campus of BITS. This particular institute has been declared as a Deemed University by the UGC Act, Section III. A candidate willing to take admission in any of the three campuses of BITS, Hyderabad, Pilani or Goa must qualify in this BITSAT exam. A candidate qualifying in this exam is eligible for the Integrated First Degree programs in any of the three campuses.

- BE (Honors) in Computer science, Chemical, Civil, Electronics and Instrumentation, Mechanical and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

- MSc (technology) in Information systems, Finance, General studies and Engineering technology.
BITS, Goa campus
- BE (honors) in Computer science, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics and Electronics and Instrumentation engineering.
- MSc (honors) in Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics, Biological science and Physics.
- MSc (technology) in Information Systems.
BITS, Hyderabad campus

BITSAT Eligibility Criteria
A candidate applying for this exam must have completed his/her 10+2 from a recognized state or central board of India. They must also have 75% marks in the total of the science subject like Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. They should also have a minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects. A candidate must be fluent in English and have English as one of the major subjects in his/her 10+2 level. Candidates who are appearing in their final exam of class XII or alike can also apply for this exam provided they supply all the provisional documents of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
BITSAT Procedure for Application

BITSAT Exam Pattern
This is generally a computed based exam conducted online. The duration of the exam is three hours and there are 150 multiple choice questions. The question paper is divided into four major sections-
The first section is on Physics and it contains 40 questions.
The second section is on Chemistry and it contains 40 questions.
The third section is indeed the most important section and it consists of 15 questions that examine the candidate’s fluency in English. There is also a logical reasoning part in this section consisting of 10 questions.
The fourth section is on Mathematics and consists of 45 questions.
For each correct answer the examinee will be awarded three marks and one mark will be taken away for each incorrect answer.
Centers of the BITSAT Exam
Apart from the Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa campus the exam is also conducted in centers like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Nagpur, Noida, Mumbai, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Gurgaon and Coimbatore.
BITSAT Admission Counseling Process
The counseling process is mainly held on the basis of merit of the candidates who have qualified in the BITSAT examination. The counseling call will be announced by BITS and the qualified candidate must apply online immediate after the counseling call has been announced. The printed copies should be supplied to BITS Pilani campus. It is very important to submit the original certificates before the seat allotment for the purpose of verification. In order to confirm the admission a selected candidate must pay all the necessary fees.
